Have us file it: $79 + state fee

Your Washington annual report is due every year, and several companies will file it for you. The state fee is the same whoever files. Here is what each service charges, in its own words, and when doing it yourself is the right answer.

The state fee, whoever files

The Secretary of State lists the annual report fee for profit entities including an LLC as "$70". The report "is due by the last day of the month in which the business was originally formed or registered." Miss it and "an additional $25 delinquency fee will be assessed."

File it yourself

Cost: $70. The Secretary of State "notifies registered business entities by regular mail and email 60 days before their expiration date." and "This courtesy notice is provided by the Secretary of State per statute." Not getting it does not excuse the filing. See doing it yourself vs using a service.

Common questions

How much does it cost to file a Washington annual report?

The state fee is $70 for an LLC or corporation, due by the last day of your formation month. Services add their own fee: Contractor Lane $79, Northwest Registered Agent $100, LegalZoom from ninety-nine dollars, ZenBusiness $199 a year for a compliance plan.

Can I file my Washington annual report myself?

Yes, online with the Secretary of State for the $70 fee. The office sends a courtesy reminder, but not receiving it does not excuse a late filing.

Is a filing service worth it for a contractor?

If a missed annual report would cost you more than the service fee, or you simply do not want to track it, yes. Otherwise file it yourself and use deadline reminders.
