Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026.

Contractor Lane ("Company", "we", "us", "our") is owned and operated by Andy's Plumbing & Drain LLC, a Washington limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Contractor Lane websites, free roadmap builder, paid roadmap, subscriptions, and related services (the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.

The short version: We collect what we need to run the product and process your payment. We use Stripe for payments and never store your full card number. We do not sell your personal information. We use trusted providers to host and email. The marketing site uses cookies for analytics and advertising, including retargeting — you can opt out, see Section 3. You can ask us to access or delete your data anytime.

1. Information we collect

CategoryExamples
Information you provideName, email address, business name; information you choose to save in the account application; and support messages. The public free roadmap builder processes your selections in your browser and does not submit or save them to Contractor Lane.
Purchase & billingBilling name and contact details, purchase history, and subscription status. Card and bank details are collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe), not by us.
Account & securityLogin identifiers, magic-link or password credentials (passwords are stored only as secure hashes), and account settings.
Email preferencesWhether you opted in to marketing email, when you confirmed it, where the request came from, the version of this notice in effect at the time, and any later unsubscribe. See Section 3a.
Automatically collectedOur hosting providers may record standard access and security logs, such as IP address, browser information, requested page, referring page, and request time. The account application uses the browser storage or cookies needed for authentication and session security. The marketing site also sets analytics and advertising cookies or similar identifiers through Google Tag Manager — see Section 3, including how to opt out.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not submit any through the Services.

2. How we use information

3. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We use Google Tag Manager on the public marketing site to load analytics and advertising technologies. Through it we use, or may use, services from Google (Google Analytics and Google Ads), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), and Microsoft Advertising (Bing). These services set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser and receive information such as the pages you view, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser details.

We use that information to understand how the site is used and to show Contractor Lane ads to people who have already visited the site — commonly called remarketing or retargeting. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use these tools to collect sensitive information.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site remains usable without them. You can also opt out directly with the platforms: Google at My Ad Center and the Google Analytics opt-out, Meta in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences, and Microsoft at Microsoft ad settings. Industry-wide opt-out tools are available from the NAI and the DAA.

The account application separately uses the browser storage or cookies necessary to keep you signed in and protect the session. Those are required for the product to work and are not advertising cookies. Hosting providers may maintain standard access and security logs.

3a. Marketing email and consent

We send two different kinds of email, and they follow different rules.

How marketing consent works. Marketing email is opt-in and double confirmed. Ticking the optional box at signup, or asking for marketing email from your account page, is a request — not consent. We email you a confirmation link, and you are added only after you open it and press the confirm button. Simply loading that link is not enough, because corporate email scanners follow links automatically and we do not treat a scanner as your consent. If you never confirm, you are never added. We record when you opted in, where the consent came from, and which version of this wording was in effect at the time. Creating an account, buying the roadmap, or subscribing to reminders does not opt you into marketing.

Bounces and spam reports. If email to your address permanently fails, or you report one of our messages as spam, we automatically and permanently stop sending marketing to that address. That suppression is deliberately not reversible through the self-serve confirmation link; contact us and we will handle it by hand.

How to stop marketing email. Every marketing message includes a one-click unsubscribe link and standard one-click unsubscribe headers, so your mail app's own "unsubscribe" button works too. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately, does not require signing in, and we honor it indefinitely. It stops marketing email only — transactional and account email continues, because those are needed to run your account. You can also email support@contractorlane.com and we will remove you by hand.

Delivery provider. Marketing and transactional email is delivered through Resend, which processes your email address and delivery events (such as deliveries, bounces, and complaints) on our behalf so we can keep our list clean and stop mailing addresses that bounce or report us. We do not sell your email address, and we do not share it with advertisers.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When you request deletion or close your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business records (such as transaction records). Backups age out on a rolling basis.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, short-lived login tokens, and database access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

8. Children

The Services are for business users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Third-party links

The Services link to government and other third-party websites. Their privacy practices are their own; this Policy does not apply to them. Review their policies before providing information.

10. United States

The Services are operated in and intended for users in the United States. If you access them from elsewhere, you consent to processing in the United States.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted here and, where practical, communicated to account holders.
