Terms of Service
Last updated: July 21, 2026.
Contractor Lane ("Company", "we", "us", "our") is owned and operated by Andy's Plumbing & Drain LLC, a Washington limited liability company. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you ("you," "your," or "User") and Contractor Lane. They govern your access to and use of the Contractor Lane websites, the free roadmap builder, the paid Washington Contractor Startup Roadmap, any subscription reminder service, any content library, and all related products and services (together, the "Services").
By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Legal Disclaimer, which are incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. What Contractor Lane is — and is not
The Services organize publicly available information about starting a contracting or home-service business in Washington and present it as checklists, links to official sources, and general guidance. Requirements, fees, forms, thresholds, and deadlines change frequently and depend on your specific situation. You are solely responsible for verifying every requirement, fee, and deadline directly with the responsible agency — including the Washington Department of Labor & Industries (L&I), Department of Revenue (DOR), Secretary of State (SOS), Employment Security Department (ESD), and the IRS — and for confirming your obligations with a licensed attorney, CPA, or insurance professional before acting.
2. No guarantee of accuracy, completeness, licensing, or results
- We do not warrant that any information in the Services is accurate, current, or complete.
- Any "which license you need" output, credential suggestion, cost estimate, or roadmap is a starting point and educational suggestion only — not a determination, legal opinion, or guarantee. The final and controlling determination of what you must hold rests with the applicable government agency.
- We do not guarantee that following the Services will result in your business being registered, licensed, bonded, insured, approved, compliant, profitable, or successful, or that you will avoid penalties, denials, fines, or liability.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Services. The Services are intended for users in the United States and, at this time, are focused on Washington State.
4. Accounts
Some Services require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Products, pricing, and payment
- Free tools. The free roadmap builder and free content are provided at no charge and may change or be withdrawn at any time.
- One-time products. The Washington Contractor Startup Roadmap is a one-time digital purchase at the price shown at checkout. Access is granted to the purchasing account.
- Subscriptions. Reminder and content-library subscriptions (e.g., $20/month) are recurring. They automatically renew each billing period until you cancel. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method on each renewal. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you retain access until then.
- Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full card number. Your use of payment features is also subject to Stripe's terms.
- Prices and taxes. Prices may change; changes do not affect the current paid term of an existing subscription. You are responsible for any applicable taxes.
6. Refunds and cancellation
- One-time digital products (30-day money-back guarantee): If you are not satisfied with a one-time purchase (including the Startup Roadmap and the Roadmap + Reminders bundle), email us within 30 days of purchase and we will refund the purchase price in full. No conditions on usage; one refund per customer per product.
- Subscriptions: You may cancel anytime and will not be charged again after cancellation. We do not provide prorated or partial-period refunds for the current period unless required by law.
- To request a refund or cancel, email support@contractorlane.com.
7. License and intellectual property
The Services, including all text, checklists, templates, software, the requirements engine, design, and branding, are owned by Contractor Lane or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services and any purchased content for your own business use only.
You may not copy, resell, republish, redistribute, sublicense, share access to, or create derivative works from the Services or purchased content, except that templates and worksheets provided for that purpose may be used within your own business. Official government forms and public-source materials remain the property of their respective owners.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Services for any unlawful purpose; (b) share, resell, or provide account access to others; (c) scrape, harvest, reverse-engineer, or copy the Services or their content at scale; (d) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data; (e) upload malicious code; or (f) misrepresent the Services as legal, tax, or licensing advice to third parties.
9. Third-party sites and services
The Services link to government and third-party websites and rely on third-party providers (including Stripe, email delivery, hosting, and database providers). We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability, accuracy, or practices. Following an external link is at your own risk.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
11. Limitation of liability
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Contractor Lane and its owners, members, officers, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) your business decisions, filings, licensing, or operations; (c) your violation of these Terms or any law; or (d) your infringement of any third-party right.
13. Dispute resolution, governing law, and arbitration
These Terms and any disputes arising hereunder shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Informal resolution first. Before starting any proceeding, you agree to contact us at support@contractorlane.com and try in good faith to resolve the dispute for at least 30 days.
Binding arbitration. Except for small-claims matters and claims for injunctive relief regarding intellectual property, any dispute arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, seated in Pierce County, Washington (or by videoconference). Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violation of these Terms or to protect the Services. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 1, 2, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 15) survive.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest version. Material changes will be posted here and, where practical, communicated to account holders. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
16. Miscellaneous
If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Legal Disclaimer are the entire agreement between you and Contractor Lane regarding the Services.
